Response to advert for Director of Policing Civil Nuclear Constabulary

The Federation were briefed on the proposed wording of this advertisement by the Chief Executive of Police Authority, during the course of this briefing the Federation were informed that legally the Police Authority could not state in their advertisement for a Chief Constable "must be a serving DCC or recently retired Chief Officer".

It was then further stated that this would lead to the post being open to anyone who could meet the criteria laid down by the Authority.

At no time was it stated that the wording of the advertisement would be for a Director of Policing rather than a Chief Constable.

The Civil Nuclear Police Federation would strongly oppose the appointment of a non sworn officer to the position of Chief Constable.
