Conference / Speeches

General Secretary's Welcome 2010.

Dear Colleagues,

It gives me enormous pleasure to welcome you to the Civil Nuclear Police Federation 2010 Annual Conference, held in Glasgow Hilton Hotel for the first time

Conference is the pivotal event to take the time to focus on the challenges that we face in both the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, and our Police Federation and debate what we can contribute to ensure that we are at the centre of the discussions As we look forward we face challenging times. We must however ensure that we have "Continuity through Change" With project new dawn our members continue to adapt and accept the challenges of change they have been presented to them on a daily basis. The Futures Programme in regard to the culture and the mechanisms in how our employers seek to move forward in regard to our future terms and conditions of employment presents us with many challenges. We will seek to influence and work in partnership through consultation and negotiation, addressing the challenges as they present themselves

No one should be in any doubt however of our resolve to obtain the right solution for our members as we enter into a new era within the Civil Nuclear Constabulary. We will continue with our goal of equality of pay in the office of Constable we hold, as we provide more in the provision of a first class police service for both the nuclear industry and the general public to whom we serve.

I would like to thank our fraternal guests for your attendance and hope you will enjoy our conference and hospitality.
